$SHIB, $ADA, $DOT, and Others Added As Payment Methods at Dubai University via New Integration

Shiba Inu ($SHIB), the meme-inspired cryptocurrency, Cardano ($ADA), and Polkadot ($DOT), the ‘blockchain of blockchains,’ can now be utilized as payment methods at a prominent Dubai University, along with numerous other digital assets.

According to a recent release, prospective and present students at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) can now pay their tuition fees using Binance Pay, Binance’s cryptocurrency-focused payment service that supports over 70 digital assets.

Blue-chip coins like $BTC and $ETH are among these digital assets, as are meme coins like $SHIB and $DOGE, as well as $ADA, $DOT, $BCH, $AVA, $LTC, $MATIC, and others.

It is worth noting that the university is one of the best in Dubai. Binance launched the meme-inspired cryptocurrency #SHIB to Binance Pay in November of last year, along with a variety of other assets such as PancakeSwap’s $CAKE, football fan token $PORTO, and Tether’s $USDT.

According to CryptoGlobe, both Cardano and Shiba Inu have observed an increase in the amount of massive whale transactions on their networks, which has been “historically connected with price swings.” These cryptocurrency networks have experienced “significant increases in massive whale transactions,” with transactions over $100,000 reaching highs not seen in months for all three digital assets.

These massive whale trades are taking place in the context of a broader cryptocurrency market rebound, with the flagship cryptocurrency Bitcoin ($BTC) seeing its best January in a decade after surging more than 40% in a month.

Notably, the total value locked on Cardano’s decentralized finance space has more than doubled this year, with over $100 million currently secured on DeFi protocols on the network.

The total value locked on the Cardano network began in 2023 at roughly $49 million and has since risen to almost $104 million. The increase can be credited in part to Cardano’s price appreciation, as the cryptocurrency rose from around $0.25 at the start of the year to over $0.39 at the time of writing.

Shiba Inu has seen significant accumulation among Ethereum ($ETH) whales, with the top 5,000 now holding a vast amount of SHIB tokens worth $708,456,318. SHIB is the greatest non-ETH ownership among Ethereum whales, according to this astonishing figure.
