Joe Biden Admits To Being A Failure At Presidential Debate

  • Joe Biden admitted his failure during his debate with Donald Trump but insists on continuing his re-election campaign.
  • Biden faces increasing pressure from within his own party to step aside, with some suggesting Kamala Harris should replace him.
  • Trump and his advisers expect Biden to quit, believing Harris will take his place on the Democratic ticket.

President Joe Biden has openly admitted that he screwed up during his debate with Donald Trump. Despite this, he insists on continuing his re-election campaign. The President faced mounting pressure to step aside but remains determined.

In a pre-recorded interview with a local radio station in Wisconsin that aired on Thursday morning, Biden confessed:

“I had a bad night. And the fact of the matter is that, you know, I screwed up. I made a mistake. When you get knocked down, you just get back up.”

Biden Faces Pressure From Within His Party

Biden’s remarks come as he attempts to address an issue within his Democratic party.

Lawmakers, party operatives, and influential donors are increasingly concerned that the 81-year-old president might not be fit to face Trump or serve another term in the White House.

Biden is getting ready for an important weekend for his campaign. He plans to stop in Wisconsin on Friday, appear in a national TV interview, and travel to Pennsylvania on Sunday.

The New York Times reported that during an emergency White House meeting on Wednesday, Biden told Democratic governors he needed more sleep and fewer working hours, including avoiding events after 8 pm.

When asked about his health, Biden reportedly said:

“It’s just my brain.”

Before heading to Wisconsin, Biden is expected to spend Thursday at the White House with his close family and host a July 4 celebration for military members and veterans.

His wife, Jill, and his son, Hunter, have encouraged him to stay in the race despite the internal pressure. Many House Democrats are drafting a joint letter calling on the president to end his re-election bid, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Party insiders also believe the president would support his vice-president, Kamala Harris, if he decided to drop out of the race.

Harris has suffered from low approval ratings as vice-president, but opinion polls since the debate suggest she would perform better than Biden against Trump.

The vice-president told White House staff on a call on Wednesday that she was behind Biden. Kamala Harris said,

“We will not back down. We will follow our president’s lead. We will fight, and we will win.”

Trump and his top advisers, who have kept a low profile since last week’s debate, have signaled they expect Harris will replace Biden on the Democratic ticket.

Trump was recorded secretly at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf course telling people he thought Biden would “quit.”

He added: “That means we are going to have Kamala. Haha, she is so pathetic. She is just so fucking bad.”
