NBA Top Shot Launches P2P Marketplace For NFT Collectibles

In a bid to allow beta players of its NBA Top Shot game to trade their NFT collectibles, Dapper Labs, has launched a peer-to-peer marketplace.

The launch of the marketplace will allow players to own tokens that were limited to the game’s now sold-out first wave of collectibles. It will also allow players expand and draw unique rewards for their crypto-collections.

NBA Top Shot has been built on Dapper Labs’ Flow blockchain. It has features which includes significant moments in basketball history. The tokens will further allow its users to explore videos and statistics relating to the specific moment that each NFT represents.

Top Shot offered NFTs representing 150 moments from the 2019–20 NBA season that featured five different players on each team at the time of its launch. It is now releasing the second of three waves of new collectibles offering “a more robust look at the 2019–20 season.

Speaking to Cointelegraph, Dapper Labs Dapper Labs’ head of partnerships and marketing, Caty Tedman, indicated that the NBA will collaborate in promoting Top Shop, noting discussion regarding tokens targeting specific regions and languages.

Tedman expressed hopes to launch “Japanese-language tokens” in future, adding that the NBA has connected Dapper with their Asia-Pacific and European groups.
