As the United States elections are around the corner, developments are gradually building on around it. In a recent development, the United States congressman Tom Emmer has decided to accept donations in cryptocurrencies to fund his re-election.

The announcement from Emmer follows after the growing concern related to the US dollar. The congressman has time and again been brutally critical of the Federal Reserve’s stimulus policies.

Emmer has also co-chaired the Congressional Blockchain Caucus and has supported the use of Blockchain.

Talking about Broadband, Blockchain and Emerging Technology; Emmer had wrote: “As Co-Chair of the Congressional Blockchain Caucus, I constantly advocate for increased education and introduce legislation in Congress regarding new technological innovations and our need for light-touch regulations so that development and investment flourish in the United States.”

“Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematical (STEM) skills are becoming increasingly important, which is why my office participates in the Congressional App Challenge every year. This challenge is designed to encourage students to compete against their classmates and students across the state in creating their own mobile device applications, known as apps. Students who train in these fields will be better equipped to advance their careers in a fast-paced and rapidly changing future,” he added.

Furthermore, Emmer is not the first congressperson to accept crypto donations, earlier there was Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Andrew Yang, who, had accepted cryptocurrency for their respective presidential run.
