Launched in 2023, ShibaPunkz.art allows users to stake NFTs from a collection of 10,000 unique Shiba Inu-themed NFTs. These NFTs are minted on Shibarium, Shiba Inu’s own Layer-2 scaling solution, designed to enhance transaction speed and reduce costs.
Initially, users who staked their ShibaPunkz NFTs were rewarded with SPUNK tokens, the native SRC-20 token of the DApp. The amount of SPUNK earned depended on the duration their NFTs remained staked.
However, things have gotten even more exciting! Lucie revealed a major upgrade to the staking DApp. Now, participants can earn from a pool of 85 million SHIB tokens and 2 LEASH tokens as staking rewards. Despite these substantial numbers, the overall yearly burn rate in 2023 was slightly lower than in 2022, decreasing by 8.33%. In 2022, over 83 billion SHIB tokens were destroyed.
