GoMining Integrates Uphold's Platform to Expand Regulated Bitcoin Services in the US

Getting proper licenses to operate a cryptocurrency platform takes years. The regulatory hurdles are massive. Instead of waiting, GoMining decided to take a different route. The Bitcoin-focused ecosystem just announced a major integration with Uphold’s Platform-as-a-Service. This move allows GoMining to rapidly expand its regulated digital asset services. It also accelerates the company’s sustainable global growth strategy.

This integration is designed to initially benefit users based in the United States.

Through this new partnership, customers can create accounts and fund them quickly. They can buy, sell, and hold cryptocurrencies directly through the GoMining interface. Behind the scenes, Uphold manages the core operational processes. The platform handles all the underlying compliance workflows, including know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) checks. Uphold also oversees fraud controls and digital asset custody. Meanwhile, GoMining retains complete control over the actual customer experience.

The decision is highly strategic. According to GoMining, building these exact capabilities independently would have taken several years. Securing appropriate licenses across multiple jurisdictions is a notoriously slow process. By connecting directly via API, the company bypasses that massive delay entirely.

GoMining currently serves a global community of five million users. It also ranks as one of the top ten Bitcoin miners in the world by hashrate, operating data centers internationally and within the U.S. Initially, the company focused strictly on making Bitcoin mining accessible to everyday consumers through tokenized hashrate. However, it has grown significantly. Recently, GoMining added new features like Recurring Buys and Staking. These additions are part of a broader drive to widen mainstream participation in the Bitcoin economy.

Chief Executive Officer Mark Zalan explained the company’s recent evolution.

“GoMining has evolved beyond our original goal of democratising access to Bitcoin mining to become a platform that supports payments, education and other Bitcoin ecosystem products in one easy-to-use app,” Zalan stated. He noted that partnering with a battle-tested platform like Uphold enables their continued expansion.

Why did they choose Uphold? GoMining pointed to several key factors. First, Uphold boasts highly successful approval rates for conventional payment card transactions. Second, it has a strong geographical footprint, holding essential licenses in both the U.S. and the U.K. Finally, this setup allows GoMining to easily deploy Uphold’s future product innovations as soon as they become available.

Users will not even notice the technical changes. The integration remains completely invisible to GoMining’s customers. They will access all of these new capabilities without ever leaving the familiar, branded application.

This partnership also unlocks massive liquidity for users. Uphold currently integrates with more than 30 centralized and decentralized trading venues. The system automatically polls the market for every single transaction. This ensures competitive pricing and optimal execution for every GoMining customer.

Robin O’Connell is the CEO of Uphold Enterprise. He highlighted how this deal perfectly demonstrates the value of their infrastructure business.

“The Uphold service allows our enterprise customers to access a full range of tried-and-tested workflows and compliant digital asset services while retaining control of the customer relationship and user experience,” O’Connell explained.

Uphold brings serious credibility to the table. The financial technology company currently serves millions of customers across more than 140 countries. It is tightly regulated by FinCen and state regulators in the U.S., the FCA in the U.K., and the Bank of Portugal in Europe. The company never loans out customer assets unless explicitly requested. It remains 100 percent reserved at all times and uniquely publishes its assets and liabilities on a public website every 30 seconds.

Companies are no longer trying to build everything themselves. Instead, they are relying on specialized infrastructure providers to handle compliance and custody. For GoMining, this means they can focus entirely on what they do best, which is building a comprehensive Bitcoin ecosystem for the future.
