US Presidential Candidate Donald Trump Says US’s Competitor in Crypto is China! He Said He Will Release a New NFT! Here are the Details
  • Former US President Donald Trump said the US should lead the global crypto race ahead of China or any other country.

Former US President Donald Trump gave strong support to the cryptocurrency industry, emphasizing that the US should lead the global crypto race ahead of China or any other country.

Trump Defends Us Leadership in Crypto

In an interview published on Bloomberg, Trump underlined the strategic importance of crypto to the nation.

“If I throw it away, it’s going to be taken over in another country, probably China. They’re pretty advanced in that area, so you have to look at that. What I want, again, is what’s good for the country,” Trump said.

The Republican presidential candidate underlined that cryptocurrency will not disappear and announced plans to launch another series of non-fungible tokens (NFT).

“I’ve done it three times and I’m going to do it again because people want me to do it again,” Trump said.

Previous NFT releases have included trading card-themed NFTs that offer buyers perks like pieces of his suit or tie and invitations to private dinners with him.

Trump expressed confidence in the potential of the US crypto industry, noting that although it is nascent, it has a good foundation. He also noted his increased familiarity with the industry, citing his interactions with “senior” industry professionals.

Trump, who once had negative views towards cryptocurrencies, has recently started supporting the industry.

In May, his campaign began accepting donations in cryptocurrencies and raised $3 million in the last quarter, according to the Wall Street Journal. Trump also promised to support Bitcoin miners if he returns to the White House.
