Payments solution firm, Verifone announces a bitcoin payment options for its customers. Particularly, it’s for the on in-store and eCommerce Cloud Services platforms in the United States.
Also, this is due of Verifone’s new partnership with BitPay, the world’s largest provider of Bitcoin payment services.
However, this new payment option feature will become available to U.S. Verifone merchants later this year.
Notably, The company boost with over 600,000 merchants worldwide. Also, It handles over 10.4 billion online and in-store transactions yearly.
Furthermore, this new payment service option will ne for the use of merchants to accept bitcoin. For instance, this is possible even without having an account with BitPay. Additionally, Customers will be using their preferred payment wallet to make purchases and payments.
However, there’s no clear indication that BitPay will enable lightning wallet transactions, or why only certain Bitcoin wallets are approved for transactions.
“The solution supports major wallets like Blockchain.com, BRD, Metamask, BitPay, and more,”
Verifone said in a press release.
BitPay’s Verifone payment solution will allow customers to make payments with many alternative cryptocurrencies with those wallets.
“Verifone’s merchant base includes many of the world’s largest and most well-known brands looking to tap into the growing crypto market,”
said Stephen Pair, CEO of BitPay.

Also, this news is timely as many other nations are now rushing into the Bitcoin Lightning Network for payments. Thereby, overturning Bitpay’s traditional model. Notably, Its The Lightning Network that’s propelling Bitcoin adoption and usage in El Salvador.
More so, the country’s bitcoin adoption places total Lightning Network capacity up to 1,000 Bitcoin. Ie. nearly 3,000 Bitcoin just in this month.
