- FIFA is launching a new NFT collection with the promise of 2026 World Cup tickets.
- FIFA has abandoned the Algorand altcoin network used in the past and picked Polygon for new NFT minting.
FIFA is preparing to release a limited number of digital collectibles that can provide owners with the opportunity to watch the final match of the 2026 World Cup.
According to a recent announcement, the first delivery will consist of 100 digital collectibles containing the rarest items offering the chance to win 2026 FIFA World Cup final tickets.
An additional 900 digital collections will be published on the Polygon network and made available on the OpenSea platform.
Originally minted on Algorand, FIFA’s NFTs are now planning to move to Polygon with the second phase of this upcoming collection.

Popular among Web3 gaming projects, blockchain will also be used for future FIFA digital collection launches.
The initiative, known as “FIFA+ Collect”, was first announced last year and aimed to offer football fans around the world the chance to own unique digital collectibles at affordable prices.
The launch of NFTs coincides with the FIFA Club World Cup 2023, which kicks off tomorrow in Saudi Arabia.
NFTs released by FIFA have underperformed so far and have failed to make an impact similar to the NFT craze observed during the bull season.
