The Twitter and Square CEOs have an ultimate vision for the most significant crypto. He believes it can help tackle issues at a “foundational level.”
Jack Dorsey’s Aim
The ultimate aim of Bitcoin, according to Twitter and Square CEO Jack Dorsey, is world peace, notwithstanding the lunacy of his claim.
The technological entrepreneur made the remarks during the ‘The B Word’ online conference. The conference also included Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Cathie Wood of ARK Invest. The symposium, apparently designed to teach institutions how to accept Bitcoin and “support the network,” was co-hosted by the Square CEO.
“I hope that it creates world peace or helps create world peace,” he said. “It may sound a bit ridiculous, but you fix that foundational level, and everything above it improves. It is in the long-term, but my hope is definitely peace. It’ll take a long time, but my hope is for peace.”
The Reason Dorsey Likes Crypto
Dorsey went on to say that one of the reasons he likes cryptocurrencies is because of their community, which he describes as “deeply principled.” He admits that the most prominent digital currency by market capitalization has a “weird as hell” community, but that’s one reason he likes it.
Elon Musk’s Point of View
Musk, for one, confirmed today that Bitcoin is held by more than one of his publicly traded firms. He stated, “I own Bitcoin, Tesla owns Bitcoin, and SpaceX owns Bitcoin.” Tesla famously bought $1.5 billion in Bitcoin in February, according to reports.
Musk also stated that he supports decentralized finance and owns Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin, while Wood said that Bitcoin serves as an inflation hedge.
Dorsey was passionate
But it was Dorsey who was most passionate, claiming that altering the global monetary system might bring peace. And Bitcoin is a part of that shift.
