Bitpanda, an Austria-based cryptocurrency exchange, has announced that it would add support for the popular meme-inspired cryptocurrency Floki Inu ($FLOKI) on March 17, marking yet another significant listing for the cryptocurrency.
Floki has just been added to a number of prominent cryptocurrency trading platforms, including OKEx, WazirX, DigiFinex, and others. The cryptocurrency is now available to Bitpanda’s 4 million users, who can trade it against the Euro, the European fiat currency.
With with the listing, the exchange announced a distribution of 1 billion $FLOKI tokens to participants in its Bitpanda Spotlight program. According to the official FLOKI account, the listing would make it easier for consumers to purchase FLOKI in EUR.
FLOKI, the utility token of the Floki ecosystem that “includes a 3D NFT Metaverse, DeFi utilities, a crypto education platform, NFTs, a merchandise store, and more,” hit a top 100 cryptocurrency by market capitalization this year, according to CryptoGlobe.
The Floki Inu team hopes that the debut of its FLOKI-powered Metaverse battle game Valhalla, which has in-game creatures that can be acquired with FLOKI or another in-game currency, will raise demand and usage for the token.
FLOKI will also allow users to make various other purchases within the game, and the game’s developers intend to permanently burn a considerable proportion of FLOKI tokens, further reducing circulation supply and potentially increasing scarcity and value.
Floki Inu has increased by over 300% year to date and just issued a plan indicating the project’s goal of being the most well-known and widely utilized cryptocurrency.
The strategy includes a comprehensive phase that included the opening of a retail store, partnerships with Binance Pay and Pyth Network, and the publication of a Mandarin version of the whitepaper. The roadmap also includes a second phase that includes the deployment of a FlokiFi redesign and a debit card for the project, followed by a third phase that includes the release of a public edition of the University of Floki.
A fourth phase would see the launch of Valhalla’s mainnet as well as a Mandarin version of the play-to-earn NFT game. The team also mentioned a “secret project.”
