PSV Eindhoven will accept a new sponsorship agreement through Bitcoin

As more teams incorporate crypto into their day-to-day operations, the football ecosystem has ramped up its adoption game.

PSV Eindhoven, a Dutch top-tier football team, has collaborated with local crypto trading site Anycoin Direct. Therefore, Anycoin Direct will pay the club an unknown Bitcoin (BTC) sum as part of a new sponsorship agreement.

Anycoin Direct will remain an official partner of PSV Eindhoven for the next two seasons. Therefore, to increase crypto awareness across Europe.

PSV Eindhoven will collect the whole sponsorship payment in Bitcoin by utilising the crypto platform’s services. Therefore, making it the first major football club in the European Union to do so.

Continuous Innovation

After PSV Eindhoven completed the contract, marketing director Frans Janssen constructed Bitcoin wallets to take the sponsorships. “As a club in the centre of the Brainport region, we are continuously innovating, and Bitcoin fits nicely into this picture,” he added, endorsing the decision.

PSV tested NFT earlier by auctioning a digital replica of the 1988 European Cup Final. Additionally, to emphasise the significance of the victory for the club, the NFT was accompanied by an official certificate signed by Hans van Breukelen, the championship goalie.
