The Denver-based Quiznos restaurant has collaborated with Bakkt App to start the trial programme.
Quiznos now accepts Bitcoin
Quiznos, a US fast-food chain, is now taking Bitcoin as payment for sandwiches. It is currently testing the programme at a few Denver stores. A partnership with Bakkt will enable the business to handle Bitcoins.
According to a press release, American fast-food behemoth Quiznos has begun accepting bitcoin payments for its sandwiches and other services. Therefore, bitcoin payments are now available at Quiznos in the United States. Thanks to the partnership between the restaurant chain and digital asset supplier Bakkt in August, the brand will test a trial programme in Denver to determine if customers are interested in using it to buy groceries. However, after a big bull run at the beginning of the year, cryptocurrency values have declined over time.
Others Accepting Crypto
Therefore, more firms are now accepting cryptocurrency payments to stock up on the assets that many believe still has growth potential. It’s “an exciting tentpole moment,” according to Sheela Zemlin, Chief Revenue Officer of Bakkt. Zemlin stated that Bakkt is “bringing Bitcoin utility to the mainstream consumer market” through this partnership.
Pay using Bakkt App
They will “closely watch” this trial initiative before determining whether to expand the collaboration into other country regions. Additionally, according to the announcement, Quiznos customers who purchase Bitcoin using the Bakkt app and pay with Bitcoin will receive $15 (about Rs. 1,100) as an incentive.
The Bakkt App
Bitcoin transactions are made easier with the software, which was introduced in 2019. This means that digital assets should have the same level of liquidity and value as fiat currency, such as US dollars or the Indian rupee. iOS and Android versions of the software are accessible.
