The third-largest Bitcoin whale adds $21 million in BTC, valued at $46.3,000

The third-largest bitcoin whale looks to have returned from the holidays and has just made the first significant purchase of 2022.

According to Bitinfocharts, on January 4th, the third-largest bitcoin address added 456 BTC at an average price of $46,363.

The purchase is estimated to be valued around $21 million.

This is the entity’s first significant purchase, as it also purchased 6 BTC 55 minutes into the new year.

The whale currently possesses 120,845.57 BTC worth approximately $5.6 billion at the time of writing.

The entity appears to be making the most of the current tumultuous pricing activity.

Bitcoin is currently trading for roughly $46K, down 1.7 percent in the last 24 hours. Then, 8.9 percent in the last week.

This has also pushed BTC’s dominance. Which is a metric that measures how much of the market it owns. Then, compares it to the rest of the market – below 40%.
