Bybit to Pause New User Onboarding in Japan

Dubai, UAE, October 30th, 2025, Chainwire

Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, announced that it will pause onboarding of new users in Japan, as part of its proactive approach to embracing local regulations and aligning with the evolving framework set forth by Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA).

It has always been Bybit’s commitment to operate responsibly and in compliance with local laws and regulatory expectations.

This decision will allow Bybit to focus its efforts and resources on reviewing local regulatory requirements and evaluating how to best meet the standards outlined by Japanese authorities in the future.

For New Users

Effective October 31, 2025, 12PM UTC, Bybit will no longer accept new account registrations from any Japanese residents or nationals (collectively, “Japan Customers”).

For Existing Users

There will be no immediate changes to the services available for existing Japanese users at this stage. Bybit will provide further updates should any additional measures be introduced in the future.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to our valued Japanese users and appreciate their understanding and continued support.
