Cardano’s Hoskinson Lambasts XRP Army for Being Unreasonably Vicious

Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson has reacted angrily to XRP supporters’ claims that he was attempting to harm Ripple’s reputation and spread misinformation about the troubled network.

Hoskinson expressed frustration in a six-minute video Friday about how some XRP community members responded to comments he made about the estimated time the SEC vs Ripple case would likely end.

“I talked a bit about a rumour that I had heard from a pretty reliable source who was close to the case about a potential resolution of the case by December 15th. So I just threw it out there and said, well, that’s something I’ve heard,” he explained, referring to remarks he made during a surprise Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Monday, December 12.

According to Hoskinson, referencing the XRP case when asked whether Cardano was a security was perfectly normal because the Ripple case is one of the corollaries to any cryptocurrencies being securities.

Despite clarifying that he made the comments in response to a “rumour,” many people in the XRP community and the media began spreading the word that Charles Hoskinson believed the case would be settled on December 15th.

“After it didn’t get resolved, I was accused of lying, and I was accused of creating FUD and trolling yet again,” he explained.

Hoskinson, who claimed to be supportive of Ripple’s initiatives and efforts to popularise cryptocurrency, accused some Ripple supporters of being narrow-minded.

Apart from not believing that XRP is a security, he noted that he did not think that the SEC was bribed to go after Ripple, saying that those claims were “a conspiracy”. Furthermore, he stated that, while Ethereum was given preferential treatment over others for various reasons, this did not necessarily imply bribery and corruption.

“I was mocked, harassed, and brutalised by the XRP community for saying that, and now I’m being brutalised again.”

“As a result, I’m left wondering if there’s any point in mentioning, engaging with, or discussing XRP at all.” and at this point, given what has occurred, I don’t believe there is… If asked about XRP in the future, he will simply say “NO COMMENT,” noting that he has never encountered a community so eager to attack someone who has not attacked them viciously in his career in the crypto space.
