Deep-pocketed crypto investors are suddenly moving hundreds of millions of dollars in crypto assets, including the top two digital assets by market capitalization, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
According to new data from the whale-watching platform Whale Alert, crypto whales have moved $317 million in BTC, ETH, Polygon (MATIC), and XRP in the last 24 hours.
When a high-net-worth investor abruptly transferred 7,200 BTC from one unknown wallet to another, he moved more than $165 million worth of the king cryptocurrency.
A wealthy trader also transferred 24,768 ETH from an unknown wallet to Coinbase, the largest US-based crypto exchange platform, at the time of writing.
Another wealthy investor abruptly transferred 5,212,794 MATIC, valued at $5,716,200 at the time of writing, from the Polygon blockchain to an unknown wallet.
XRP, the cryptocurrency used to power Ripple Labs’ payments platform, was the last notable virtual asset to move. The whales moved about $105 million in XRP across four transactions:
