Ethereum could be included in the Twitter-native tipping system for mobile users of the social media network Twitter. On the 17th of February, the Twitter team revealed this development in order to provide as many options as possible to as many individuals as possible around the world.
On the main Twitter profile, both iOS and Android enabled the aforementioned feature. The team stated in a report:
“Through Tips, you’ll also be able to copy someone’s Bitcoin or Ethereum address”
” and paste their address into whatever wallet you use.”
However, as depicted in a Twitter thread by a user, the new feature does not support Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain names. Twitter made the action as part of its ongoing investigation of the Ethereum ecosystem. Last month, the firm began offering non-fungible token (NFT) verification to premium “Twitter Blue” members.
This event occurred some months after former CEO Jack Dorsey left the social media firm. Dorsey, a Bitcoin maximalist who wasn’t a big fan of Ethereum, is currently the full-time CEO of Block (previously Square), a payments startup. He previously stated that he would never purchase Ethereum.
Several Twitter users believed that the resignation might lead to the corporation adopting a more pro-Ethereum stance. Maya Zehavi, a Twitter user, had an unusual retort on the subject.
Paga, Paytm, and Barter by Flutterwave were among the worldwide fintech companies sponsored by Twitter’s feature. As a result, tipping is now available to users in Nigeria, India, and Ghana.
