Krafton, one of Korea’s largest game creation businesses, has moved on to the next phase of its recent shift to blockchain gaming. The producers of the popular online game PUBG have announced a new cooperation with Solana Labs. That’s, the developers and maintainers of the Solana blockchain, to power their own custom Web3 experiences.
Krafton and Solana Labs have agreed to a “long-term collaborative agreement for the creation and management of blockchain- and NFT-based games and services.” This implies the two firms have committed to work together on collaborative commercial prospects and investments, as well as the creation of the blockchain-based games described.
Solana’s pick was influenced by the speed and inexpensive fees it provides to its subscribers. Hyungchul Park, the head of Krafton’s Web3 Roundtable, says:
As one of the best global high-performance blockchain with strength in high speed and low fees,”
” Solana represents the best of the Web 3.0 ecosystem and its technologies.”
“Through this cooperation, Krafton will acquire the insight needed to accelerate its investment”
“in and output of blockchain-based experiences.
As more organizations integrate new technology into their business models. So, this decision could force other big developers contemplating blockchain gaming to employ Solana as their development chain. Then, Johnny Lee, the head of Solana Labs’ Games Business Development, says:
“We are seeing gamers increasingly seek out on-chain games and gaming companies who”
” respond quickly to this demand will set themselves up well for ongoing success.”
So, Krafton’s move is part of the company’s recent shift to blockchain games, non-ferrous metals, and Web3. So, In February, the corporation invested in Seoul Auction Blue ($2.5 million) and Xbyblue ($4.1 million), two non-fungible token (NFT) and digital IP protection companies. In addition, Krafton is working on a shared metaverse platform with Naver Z, a company that has experience with 3D environments and AI.
Ubisoft and Square Enix, for example, are pivoting to include blockchain and metaverse-based components in their games.
