According to statistics from WhaleStats, one of the world’s largest Ethereum investors is interested in the popular memecoin Shiba Inu (SHIB).
Entities having at least 1,000 ETH in their wallets are Ethereum whales.
The 216th-ranked Ethereum whale just bought 3,713,675,424,944 SHIB coins worth nearly $89 million, according to the whale-tracking platform. According to the transaction record, the whale only paid $6 in transfer costs for the enormous SHIB purchase.
Shiba Inu, which is presently the eighth most acquired token in the previous seven days and the third most generally held token among Ethereum whales, has attracted the attention of a slew of other whales.
Shiba Inu is currently trading at $0.000024, about 10% higher than its seven-day low of $0.000022.
According to WhaleStats, ETH whales are also looking for a new altcoin.
The 20th largest ETH whale in the world was discovered buying over $4.20 million worth of ApeCoin (APE), a new coin from the founders of the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club non-fungible token (NFT) project.
In addition, WhaleStats recorded the world’s tenth-largest ETH whale gobbling up 300,000 APE tokens worth over $4.2 million.
The ninth-largest ETH whale is also buying ApeCoin, spending $2.84 million on 216,220 APE coins.
Meanwhile, the eighth-richest Ethereum whale spent $1.17 million purchasing 84,090 APE tokens.
ApeCoin is now trading for $11.01 at the time of writing.
