Recently, The number of unique addresses on the Polygon (MATIC) network hits a new all-time high above 100 million. Notably, this is due to many users taking advantage of the low transaction fees on its network. Thereby, using it to access decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.
Furthermore, The network is showing steady growth. Particularly, starting from June of this year. As at September, the Polygon network has more than 2.5 million new unique addresses in one a day. This represents a total number of unique addresses doubling after then.
More so, these addresses do not actually represent users on the network. Of course, one user can create as many addresses as they like.
Additionally, the network increases its transaction fees 30x from a default value of 1 gwei to a minimum value of 30 gwei. This is according to a post by Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal. More so, the post implies the move was important to prevent spam transactions on the network.
Furthermore, the cryptocurrency community is not happy with the move, saying there’s no information. Also, there’s no feedback or notice om the move.
Then, Nailwal replies, saying the change is important to reduce the spam transactions in the network, Polygon.
Then, goes ahead to add,
“client-level configuration you are free to run your node with old/different settings as per your wish.”
Meanwhile, MATIC’s price is rising gradually to the $1.5 mark. Due to major DeFi projects including CREAM Finance, SushiSwap, Balancer as using Polygon.
