The Bored Ape Yacht Club donates $1 million in ETH to Ukraine, bringing the total to $60 million

The Bored Ape Yacht Club is the latest to add to the increasing sum of crypto donations in support of the Ukrainian humanitarian effort (BAYC).

The venerable nonfungible token (NFT) collectors club announced a donation of $1 million in Ethereum. The donation follows nearly equal contributions from crypto wallets that also included a Bored Ape NFT.

The BAYC address contributed 389 ETH to the Ukraine crypto donation account on March 8. This works out to $1.05 million at today’s values.


At present pricing, the Ukrainian Ethereum address for receiving donations has a balance of 2,759 ETH, which is around $7.5 million. There were 12 tiny transactions that were still waiting from a day or two ago. That’s, indicating that consumers may have set gas restrictions too low.

The total sum of crypto donations, on the other hand, is substantially higher. Since the Russian invasion began on February 24. So, the blockchain data business Elliptic has been recording the total donations sent to Ukraine.

There had been $60.5 million in digital asset donations as of March 8, 22:45 UTC.
