According to a recent tweet, Welly’s, a Shiba Inu-themed fast food restaurant in Naples, Italy, plans to expand globally.

Over the last week, it claims to have received “hundreds” of requests to open new franchises.

Shytoshi Kusama, a Shiba Inu developer, established a partnership with the Naples-based burger eatery last week. The burger joint underwent a complete makeover, with the meme coin serving as its official mascot. Welly’s has also announced that it will accept Shiba Inu as a form of payment, with Dogecoin support in the horizon.

The Shiba Inu community could participate in the chain’s management through DOGGY DAO, a decentralize autonomous organization whose initial phase is live from early December.

Welly’s is being promoted by the Shiba Inu team as a healthy fast food option, which sets it apart from major chains like McDonald’s and Burger King, according to the Shiba Inu team.

Customers will be able to use non-fungible tokens to acquire access to “special advantages” at the one-store eatery, which launched in 2021.

The Shiba Inu has gone on a tear in the last week, rising by more than 70%. The meme token, which is based on Ethereum, is still one of the most popular cryptocurrencies.

While the Welly’s alliance appears unlikely to spark such a large surge. Therefore, there have been other developments in the Shiba Inu ecosystem. According to U.Today, blockchain solutions provider Unification Foundation recently stated that. Of course, after months of anticipation, a public testnet of the Shibarium Layer 2 solution would be available soon.

Shiba Inu announced its foray into the Metaverse with the “Shiberse” project in late January.
