Regarding institutional crypto adoption In 2022, SBF is ‘optimistic’

Crypto

Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of the FTX crypto exchange, believes that the certainty provided by regulators around the world will spur institutional use of crypto in this and coming years.

SBF discussed crypto rules, institutional adoption, and the Metaverse in a Bloomberg interview on January 3rd. SBF is “optimistic” about 2022, despite the market’s tumultuous conclusion to 2021.

“The things that make me optimistic basically are more regulatory clarity in the US”

“and globally which I think could help a ton on institutional adoption.”

“A lot of it depends on exactly what happens on the regulatory front as well.”

He said when asked how he thinks institutional adoption of crypto will accelerate in the future.

His thoughts on regulatory clarity driving more institutional growth in crypto are similar to those of Nansen’s Beili Baraki and Metrika’s Nikos Andrikogiannopoulos, as published by Cointelegraph on January 3.

He suggested that adoption may happen as a “tidal wave” if jurisdictions “feel like they’re getting regulatory clarity,” ““it’s going to be a long process, probably stretched out over a few years,” he continued, rather than a tidal wave situation.

“a lot of different governments announced that there will be regulatory frameworks coming out over the next year.” he added. Several governments have been hard at work figuring out their cryptocurrency regulation systems.
