How Florida Mastermind Hacked Elon Musk, Bill Gates’ Twitter

A massive uproar spread out on Twitter after the accounts of prominent personalities including Bill Gates, Elon Musk were hacked a few moths ago. Twitter had took in the charge and later restored the accounts which primarily spread Bitcoin scams.

While the Bitcoin scam were spread on prominent accounts, a few users were trapped, and hand sent money to the various addresses which were put in to the fore by hackers.

Recently three people were arrested in relation of the hacking. The mastermind has been identified as Graham Ivan Clark, 17, from Tampa, Florida.

How did the mastermind hacked the accounts

The indictment said that Clark hired Mason Sheppard, 19, from the U.K. and Nima Fazeli, 22, of Orlando, Florida, to help him gain access to Twitter through a phone spear phishing campaign.

A series of tweets from Twitter noted how the hacking took place. It has been reported that the trio have “targeted a small number of employees through a phone spear-phishing attack,” with a “significant and concerted attempt to mislead certain employees and exploit human vulnerabilities to gain access to our internal systems.”

After the system was in their grip, the trio then tweeted bitcoin scam messages across a number of high-profile accounts, including those of former U.S. President Barack Obama and Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk.
